Summary:
Colorado Mesa University invites applications for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor/Clinical Professor for the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy Program with practice mastery in physical rehabilitation. This is a full-time tenure-track or clinical-track, 12-month position with a start date of July 1, 2025.
The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. All courses will take place on campus in Grand Junction, CO. Scholarship in the discipline, involvement with advising, and service to the department and profession are expected.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Develop and coordinate course design and delivery while teaching within the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy Program.
Participate in the evaluation of didactic and clinical curriculum.
Participate in the admissions process and the applicant screening process.
Provide student academic advising and evaluation.
Assist the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator in clinical preceptor/site recruitment, development, and retention.
Participate in ACOTE accreditation processes and program/University assessment.
Complete professional development activities and service to the University and community.
Initiate a well-defined, ongoing scholarly agenda in the area of expertise.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
Occupational Therapist with the following:
• Master's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program, or entry-level Doctoral degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
All candidates should possess excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and computer skills.
Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Post-professional OTD/DOT degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Must have had initial certification as an OTR/L through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Colorado.
• Minimum of two years of clinical experience.
OR
• An earned academic doctoral degree in an appropriate discipline (PhD or EdD).
• Clinical experience in physical rehabilitation.
• Previous academic teaching experience.
• Clinical teaching in physical rehabilitation (i.e. Fieldwork II).
• Previous research experience.
• Evidence of scholarship (presentations, articles, posters, etc.).
• Active in community service and participation/leadership in local, regional, or national occupational therapy associations.
