Primary Responsibility
Under the direction of the Director of Recreation & Events and the Outdoor Studies Program Manager, the Climbing Wall Coordinator will be responsible for safe and proper use of the climbing wall; opening and closing the climbing wall on a daily basis, and efficiently and effectively completing all tasks associated with managing climbers. The Climbing Wall Coordinator is responsible for checking climbers in, teaching belay classes, monitoring climbers/belayers in the climbing area and helping to create a positive and welcoming climbing environment. This position will assist in cleaning the climbing wall area including the wall, flooring and the holds. The Climbing Wall Coordinator will register participants for events and be knowledgeable about other aspects of the Field House including trips, services, equipment rental, etc. The position is responsible for assuring climbers have completed required paperwork, risk waivers, accident forms, health forms, etc.
Education and experience sufficient to meet the rigors of the position. Examples may include previous outdoor experience is required. CPR and First Aid Certification are required but can be acquired upon employment. A Wilderness First Aid/Wilderness First Responder Certification or higher is strongly preferred over basic First Aid.

The hiring pay rate is $23.94 per hour. Benefits include retirement contribution, annual and sick time, mental health resources, and tuition benefit. CMC utilizes a wage progression compensation model that accounts for a candidate's skill and experience. Although a hiring rate is listed, this will be set commensurate with the successful candidate's qualifications and in compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.

Special Conditions of Employment
Successful completion of a background check including a motor vehicles records report required. Incumbents in this position will adhere to all safety and compliance policies of Colorado Mountain College while performing all duties assigned.
Working Conditions
This position requires constant sitting, occasional walking, standing and driving; occasional handling objects, pushing/pulling; frequent reaching with hands/arms, and use of finger movements; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 lbs. Constant written and oral communication and the ability to reason and analyze and perform calculations occasionally. Work is performed using a computer and standard office equipment daily and driving a vehicle occasionally.

- Ensure safe and proper use of the climbing wall;

- Coordinate the maintenance of climbing equipment, including but not limited to, organization, cleaning, storing, and repairing equipment. Coordination of laundry and inventory.
- Process transactions and maintain waivers and contracts for all transactions within climbing wall and Outdoor Leadership Center & Field House.
- Reception duties: data entry, receive and relay telephone messages, file, copy, and receive payments.
- Support the delivery of the CMC mission and educational framework.
- Consistently strive to give and receive feedback with co-workers and supervisor.
- Adhere to all local operating procedures, safety policies and emergency procedures outlined in the policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
