The Inside Sales Manager (ISM) is responsible for developing contacts with established and new customers for purposes of promoting and selling the products, services, and capabilities of Colorcon. This role is responsible for achieving sales objectives consistent with the Business Development Managers (BDMs), who they are assigned to support based on the direction of the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) and Director of Sales in support of territory, region and company targets. This position involves prospecting new potential customers, and web leads. The ISM will work with customers to create solutions for their needs and consult through the sales process. They will work with their respective BDMs and RSM to prioritize sales activities that best support the needs of the region.
Responsibilities & Duties
Develop strategic plan for key customers to grow revenue and future pipeline projects.
Prospect new customers to understand their needs and offer solutions.
Support existing customers revenue growth including regularly forecasting customer needs in planning system and
completing the annual budget process.
Coordinate technical management of customer projects with Technical Services.
Maintain detailed knowledge of each customer and projects, which includes but may not be limited to their products, competing products, company information, market information, organizational structure, and key stakeholders in database.
Negotiate volume and pricing agreements with customers.
Prepare for and attend sales meetings, and industry conferences/meetings.
Manage customer inquiries received from Colorcon market development activities.
Complete assigned training and personal development programs.
Minimum Qualifications
B.S., with a major in scientific discipline, strongly preferred, or equivalent experience required.
Minimum of one-year technical sales experience in formulations, product development and manufacturing related to the pharmaceutical or chemical industry with proven success in role required.
Excellent project management and communication skills to effectively manage customer and inter-company activities that will result in sales.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to initiate, connect and follow up with potential customers.
Identified future growth potential for a BDM role.
Working Location
This is a hybrid position based out of Colorcon’s Global Headquarters in Harleysville, PA.
Working remotely from a home office will be facilitated when applicable and is at the manager’s discretion.
Travel: Annual travel may be up to 20%, mainly within the US and Canada
