Human Resources Administrative Assistant/Recruiter
JOB PURPOSE
Provide administrative support and technical assistance with recruitment, orientation, status changes, data entry of information, and maintains employee records along with general office support for the day-to-day operations of Human Resources functions and duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Participates in the recruitment strategies and initiatives; encompassing the following,
- Identify and recruit candidates to fill open positions
- Leverage external and internal job postings, applicant and vendor management, social media platforms, and other resources to source qualified candidates
- Participate in job fairs and other hiring events
- Conduct phone screenings and schedule interviews with potential candidates
- Extend employment offers to candidates deemed suitable for the roles, conduct background check and schedule pre-screenings
- On-boarding which includes new hire orientation and processing
- Maintains accurate and current personnel files, including hard copies, electronic files and the company’s HRIS.
- Assists with tracking employee training records and employee Job Performance Appraisals
- Assists in serving as a resource for employees providing employee forms, policy/procedure information, benefit information, general information, etc., and directs employees to the Human Resources Manager for service as appropriate.
- Designs and coordinates the Quarterly Company Newsletter.
- Prepares monthly employee birthday and anniversary cards for distribution.
- Provides assistance in the design and implementation of employee relations activities including the Company Holiday Party, Family Day, Service Awards, Cost Saver Awards, Safety and PPE sales, anniversary and retirement celebrations, and miscellaneous contests and drawings.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILTIES
- Assists HR Manager, Plant Manager, VP of Manufacturing or President with various research projects and/or special projects.
- Compose and prepare letters, memos, correspondence, mass mailings, presentations and other communication to employees.
- Maintain and update Employee Handbook as needed.
- Accurately maintain the I-9 verification log.
- Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education/Certifications/Experience
- High School Diploma required
- Associate’s Degree from a from a 2- year college with 1 – 2 years’ experience is preferred, but not required, and/or,
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years of related experience in Human Resources

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Full-Time, Monday through Friday during business office hours of 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Additional hours as needed for meetings outside of normal working hours. Position is in the office but does require frequent travel through production areas with exposure to noise, proper PPE is provided.
