The Brass Tacks
- Vineyard Maintenance: Including pruning, canopy management (leaf removal, shoot thinning, etc.), trellising, and weed control (manual and mechanical).
- Planting & Training: Assisting with planting new vines and training young vines to grow properly.
- Harvesting: Participating in the grape harvest, including hand-picking grapes, sorting, and transporting them.
- Irrigation: Monitoring and maintaining irrigation systems, ensuring vines receive adequate water.
- Pest & Disease Management: Assisting with the application of pesticides and fungicides (following safety protocols and training provided), and monitoring for signs of pests and diseases.
- Equipment Operation: Operating and maintaining vineyard equipment, such as tractors, sprayers, and mowers (training provided).
- General Vineyard Labor: Performing other related tasks as assigned, such as cleaning, repairing fences, and maintaining vineyard grounds.
- Safety: Adhering to all safety procedures and regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Other tasks as assigned.
- Must have a general understanding of outdoor grounds maintenance.
- Must have knowledge and the ability to operate tools, hand tools, and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Must be flexible and able to perform multiple tasks and work in stressful situations.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors for extended periods, in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently as well as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Reliable transportation to and from the vineyard.
- Previous vineyard or agricultural experience is a plus but not required.
- Ability to lift and carry up to [Weight - e.g., 50 pounds] regularly.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and sun.
