ABOUT THE POSITION
Although we're an apparel and footwear-focused company, technology is central to everything we do. Columbia Sportswear’s Digital Technology (CDT) group enables an IT infrastructure and applications across four global brands, a global supply chain, and 500 geographically dispersed stores. These teams support in-store, mobile, and data platforms to enhance customer interface and service in an ever-evolving industry.
The eCommerce Architect & Engineer is responsible for both the strategic design and the technical implementation of our eCommerce platform, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure digital experiences for our customers. This role encompasses both high-level architecture planning and hands-on engineering to ensure robust, integrated solutions aligned with business objectives. This individual will collaborate closely with Product Management, Development, IT, and Business teams to drive our eCommerce technology forward, supporting the end-to-end digital commerce strategy.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
- Platform Architecture and Solution Design
Develop and implement an architecture strategy for the eCommerce platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
Engage in full-stack development for the eCommerce platform, leveraging modern frameworks and languages (e.g., JavaScript, React, Node.js).
Design and implement integrations with various enterprise systems and third-party applications, ensuring data consistency and availability.
Conduct performance testing, monitoring, and optimization to maintain high responsiveness and reliability of the platform.
Implement and maintain CI / CD pipelines for eCommerce applications, ensuring streamlined deployment and high-quality code.
Work closely with Product Management, UX / UI teams, Marketing, and Operations to align eCommerce architecture with business strategies.
