TITLE: RESTORATIVE PRACTICES SUPERVISOR
JOB STATUS: SUPERVISOR B-260 - FLSA EXEMPT
REPORTS TO: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR – WHOLE CHILD SUPPORTS
DEPARTMENT: WHOLE CHILD SUPPORTS
STARTING SALARY: $110,210

POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position is responsible for supporting and assisting the Office of Whole Child Supports with the expansion and district-wide implementation of a Restorative Practices (RP) framework across Columbus City Schools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

The statements below are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing of all responsibilities, duties, and/or skills required. Other duties may be assigned.

· Maintains a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach when working with school leaders to infuse restorative practices in their school communities.

· Ensures all members of schools are properly RP trained.

· Provides individual supervision and training of CCT including documentation of supervision and staff training plans in electronic system.

· Works in a team-oriented environment to provide on-site restorative implementation at schools to build community and/or restore trust.

· Provides new hires with Restorative Practice support through the onboarding process.

· Responds to school-based behavior referrals to determine appropriate restorative responses; follows up on restorative processes; and ensures that all agreements are upheld.

· Provides training and technical assistance to support restorative practices in schools; and provides school-based support for Restorative Circles and Conferences.

· Develops training modules addressing restorative discipline practices for school-based staff and non-school based staff; and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders in order to access resources that will allow restorative practices to thrive in Columbus City School.

· Assists with the organization and implementation of school-based initiatives related to district and team priorities (including bullying prevention, positive behavior support, restorative justice practices, and in-school disciplinary responses); and provides associated training to school-based staff.

· Supports the district and school-level implementation of IIRP and collaborates with building administrators and school-based teams to build their capacity to develop school-wide systems for Student Behavior that incorporate the following: targeted SEL opportunities for students; regular data-analysis; data-based decision-making; and identification of students in need of support.

· Uses data to identify and deliver school-specific targeted technical assistance and coaching to build the capacity of school staff in the following areas: (a) implementation of the Columbus City School Code of Student Behavior; and (b) strategies and interventions to support student behavior and promote positive school climate.

· Supports the effective implementation of the student disciplinary process.

· Creates detailed timelines for each initiative; assesses and tracks project progress regularly using various computer programs and tools; drives project completion holding others accountable for responsibilities and deadlines; collaborates with other colleagues and management teams to determine opportunities for improvement; implementation plans to resolve.

· Helps to manage the analysis and presentation of data and progress of data-driven initiatives for senior management team and external audiences; and communicates progress to key stakeholder groups and incorporates their input.

· Provides interactive and relevant professional development to school leaders and staff designed to increase their skill level in developing academic, social, and emotional support for students.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor's degree and three to five years of related work experience. Master's degree preferred.

· Minimum of three years’ experience working with school-aged students.

· OTES Certification or willingness to complete requirements.

· Willing to obtain a valid Ohio Department of Education Administrator License.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

· Previous exposure to and/or experience in the education sector

· Strong focus, knowledge base, and experience with restorative practices and supporting schools with developing and maintaining a healthy school climate.

· Extensive knowledge of Restorative Practices.

· Demonstrates and maintains exceptional interpersonal skills across a variety of audiences including students, staff, parents, and community which allow for effective relationships and partnerships.

· Outstanding oral and written communications skills, including effective presentation skills.

· Manage, analyze and share data to guide intervention strategies and monitor effective practices.

· Ability to relate, motivate, and engage with staff and external providers.

· Knowledgeable regarding trends, and developments in the field of Social Emotional Learning, trauma informed practices and Restorative Practices.

· Experience creating engaging social media content, as well as plan and manage short-term and long-term social media campaigns.

· Experience producing and distributing electronic publications in various formats, including interactive PDF files and e-newsletters.

· Experience using a browser-based Content Management System to create and update website content.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Products and Google Drive.

· Strong video production and editing skills, photography skills and basic graphic design skills.

· Knowledge and understanding of public education goals and objectives.

· Self-starter who demonstrates the ability to build relationships, coach and support District staff and volunteers.

· Strong organizational and time-management skills with an ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

· Ability to use traditional, current, advanced and emerging communication and technology tools.

· Ability to work independently with limited supervision as well as in a team setting.

· Ability to adjust to change and willingness to learn.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

· Tools/Equipment Use: Desktop PC with keyboard and mouse, laptop, scanner, calculator, software, desk, and adjustable chair.

· Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; occasional stooping, bending, squatting, kneeling, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting.

· Motion: Frequent repetitive hand motions, including keyboarding and use of a mouse; occasional reaching

· Lifting: Occasional lifting and carrying (less than 10 pounds)

· Environment: Works in office setting; may require occasional irregular hours and/or prolonged hours.

· Attendance: Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position.

· Mental Demands: Maintains emotional control under stress; works with frequent interruptions.
