What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Controller position at Columbus Hospitality Management?
Essential Functions :
- Process bi-weekly payroll.
- Reconcile tips / gratuities, differential rates, and hours to be charged to another department; resolve discrepancies with the respective manager.
- Track sales tax on projects and sales tax reporting.
- Accounts Receivable posting and reconciliation.
- Post city ledger payments in property management system, reconcile and bill all city ledger accounts.
- Record General Ledger and City Ledger reconciliations.
- Ensure all house charges are adjusted weekly. Maintain accounts receivable ledger.
- Maintain a complete understanding of internal audit / night audit procedures.
- Prepare credit applications to send to vendors & collect W-9.
- Ensure all daily, weekly, and month-end reports are completed to standards.
- Maintain a clean and accurate chart of accounts (understand how transactions should be treated (assets, liabilities, equity, income and expenses)
- Help with balance sheets, reclass / accruals, and other company financial statements and reports as needed.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and yearly forecasting of revenue, expenses, and occupancy as needed.
- Assist with Bank & reconciliation / journal entries
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
