Summary:
This is a mid-level position in the Human Resources Analyst series. The incumbent is a pivotal member of our operations which requires a high-level of integrity. Although they may specialize in an area of human resources, the incumbent will assist all levels of our company operations by guiding and supporting departments in a human resources capacity. The incumbent works closely with management members, acting as a resource with regard to human resources functions.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for complying and implementing all policies, procedures, and laws related to recruiting, benefits, training, and/or employee relations objectives.
- Maintains files and ensures records are retained in compliance with applicable laws, policies and procedures.
- Maintains confidentiality.
- Develops and maintains professional relationships with team members, supervisors, and all levels of management.
- Provides superior guest service byway of appropriate, professional, timely, and thorough responses using multiple communication avenues.
- Excels in working independently and as a member of a team.
- Recommend and implement training and process improvements based on organizational objectives.
- Provides supervisor and manager support and guidance related to HR functions and objectives.
- Identifies trends in items that surface or makes suggestions in an effort to find long-term solutions.
- Ensures Tribal Preference compliance with hiring, promotions, training transfers, and other related personnel actions.
- Responsible for ensuring that work duties are completed in a fair, unbiased, and consistent manner.
- Actively participates and/or provides guidance in the drug testing process.
- Demonstrates honesty and integrity in all aspects of their work.
- Compiles and enters information into the computer system and HRIS database.
- Operates and maintains office equipment, including but not limited to: computer, programmable telephone system, programmable fax and multi-use photocopier.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Minimum Qualifications):
- Must be at least 18 years or older.
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- AA Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field with two years of experience in Human Resources capacity is required; OR,
- Minimum five (5) years combined education and/or experience that demonstrates the ability to fulfill the requirements of the position is required.
- Must be computer literate with intermediate proficiency in Windows based programs.
- Must have correspondence skills, report writing and editing with excellent spelling and grammar abilities.
- Ability to understand, speak, communicate and read the English language.
- Ability to work mathematical concepts.
- Ability to analyze data from multiple information ports by comparing and contrasting data to draw a conclusion or to identify trends.
- Ability to take initiative, be proactive, and meet deadlines in the duties related to HR goals and objectives.
- Ability to operate office equipment and HRIS database.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the organization and outside business contacts.
- Ability to follow directions and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work closely, productively, and professionally with other individuals in a team environment to fulfill duties/assignments.
- Must have good organizational skills and be able to complete clerical duties quickly and accurately.
- Ability to communicate professionally in written, verbal, and non-verbal format while portraying a friendly tone, word choice, and body language.
- Must have a strong working knowledge of Tribal and Federal laws to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, ordinances and established policies and procedures.
- Ability to be fair, consistent, honest, and unbiased.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work various shifts including evenings, holidays, weekends, and overtime.
- Must successfully complete Title 31, Banking Secrecy Act training upon hire and annually.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Must possess a current and valid Tribal Gaming License.
