This is a Property Accountant on our Corporate Accounting Team. The Property Accountant will be responsible for contributing to the day-to-day responsibilities of the team including but not limited to financial reporting, bank reconciliations, audits, accounts payable, replacement reserve request and payroll. Job Description:
This is a Property Accountant on our Corporate Accounting Team. The Property Accountant will be responsible for contributing to the day-to-day responsibilities of the team including but not limited to financial reporting, bank reconciliations, audits, accounts payable, replacement reserve request and payroll. This role would collaborate closely with the accounting and operations teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for owners and stakeholders.
- Support year-end financial close processes, including preparation for audits and tax filings.
- Process and track accounts payable transactions, including reviewing invoices, obtaining necessary approvals, and ensuring timely payments to vendors and contractors.
- Monitor and manage accounts receivable, reconciling tenant balances, and working with property management staff to resolve payment discrepancies.
- Assist with payroll processing and offering guidance to employees on timesheet completion, as necessary when questions arise.
- Help prepare and administrate pass-through tax returns for Corporate entities.
- Assist property managers with all accounting related issues within RealPage OneSite including but not limited to invoice payment, new vendor entry, tenant ledgers, online payment system
- Assist in managing and tracking tenant security deposits, owner distributions, and escrow accounts.
- Support the Chief Financial Officer and team members with special projects, audits, and other accounting tasks as needed.
- Assist in maintaining proper documentation for all financial transactions to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the real estate industry with a preference for experience focused on multi-family development and property management.
- Strong knowledge of property management and financial reporting software such as RealPage OneSite, Yardi or Appfolio.
- Proven track record of effectively contributing to the success of a cross-functional team and their goals, priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
