What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Audio/Video/telecom/Low voltage Technician position at Commercial AV Services?
We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation of low voltage wiring systems during the per-construction phase of projects. This role involves working closely with construction teams to set up cabling for future systems, ensuring everything is in place for subsequent installation and system integration. This will be indoor and outdoor work.
Please have at least 2yrs experience…Willing to train motivated individuals with lesser experience with good attitude, and strong aptitude.
Responsibilities:
- Install low voltage wiring, including data, phone, audio/video, CCTV, and security cables, in new construction and renovation projects.
- CCTV is one of our biggest needs. Looking for someone to assist in installation/design/training and manage our security camera division.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to pre-wired systems or infrastructure
- Review and interpret blueprints
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure project completion and client satisfaction
- Maintain accurate records, document and report progress and any deviations from project plans
- Demonstrated understanding of Cat 5e, Cat 6 and fiber optic cabling installation, termination and testing.

- Trouble shooting skills are essential. Basic computer skills with the ability to become competent with in house job management software. Attention to detail, particularly regarding key component placement & system wiring.
- Knowledge and experience with Hand Tools, Drills, Wall-Fishing equipment
- Maintain a clean work environment
- Certifications in these areas are a plus
Requirements
- 1-2 years of experience with commercial cable installation preferred
- Previous experience with network cables (Cat5, Cat6, etc.)
- Experience with closet work a plus
- Valid Driver’s License required
- Clean driving record required
- Must have a reliable form of transportation
- Must have working mobile phone
- Must pass background check and drug screen
- Must have their own tools within 60 days of employment:
- Phillips Screwdriver Set (#1, #2, & #3), Flathead Screwdriver Set (small, medium, & large)
- Tape Measure, Sheetrock Saw (Keyhole saw)
- Snips, Toner & Wand (Progressive Electronics 200EP or similar)
- Klein (linemen pliers) or Side Cutters, Crescent Wrench Set, Wire Strippers
- Cordless Drill, Corded Hammer Drill (if possible)
- Socket Set
- Torpedo Level, Hammer
- Tool Bag or Toolbox
- Flashlight
A plus if you own your own truck. Truck reimbursement allowance will be paid.
1099 contractor to start
