Job Summary:
The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and financial records. This role requires working closely with vendors, internal departments, and the Accounting Team to ensure proper cash flow management and financial accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and verify invoices for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies.
- Enter invoices and payment information into accounting software or systems.
- Ensure all invoices are processed in a timely manner and within payment terms.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and process payments (checks, ACH transfers, etc.) to vendors and suppliers.
- Maintain accurate accounts payable files and records.
- Assist in preparing month-end and year-end financial reports.
- Communicate with vendors regarding payment issues, discrepancies, and inquiries.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure proper coding and allocation of expenses.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and support.
- Handle other ad-hoc finance tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
· At least 5 years of experience in accounts payable
· In-depth knowledge of QuickBooks for processing invoices, payments, and financial reporting, with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel
· Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
· Strong organizational and time-management abilities
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting
· Capable of handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with accounting regulations and best practices.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
