Summary
We are currently seeking Full-Time Seasonal, Asphalt Paver Operators to join our team for the upcoming paving season. Qualified candidates will have a working knowledge of the construction industry with specific experience related to asphalt installation and site work.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily inspection and routine maintenance of the asphalt paver to ensure safe, proper working order.
- Precise control of the paver machine and ability to follow the paving pattern, achieve straight seams, ensure proper application of the asphalt to smooth and even surface of the desired height, width, and depth.
- Ability to accurately distribute asphalt the prepared surface, adjusting the speed, material flow, etc. to achieve the desired finished product.
- Control equipment while receiving material and/or pushing dump trucks maintaining a constant flow.
- Use of reference points and grade stakes to ensure the paved surface is level and meets project specifications.
- Monitoring and ensuring proper temperature of the paving screed and asphalt mixture.
- Observe the distribution of paving material to eliminate voids at curbs and joints or piles at termination points.
- Understanding asphalt material types, compositions and aggregates with the associated temperatures, and requirements to achieve a high-quality finished product.
- Coordinating with the drivers, screed operators and other crew members to maintain a smooth workflow.
- Maintaining an acute sense of awareness of the surrounding footprint of the machine and any obstructions (i.e. overhead lines, ground utilities, curb and gutters).
- Adhering to all safety guidelines and procedures while operating the equipment.
- Willing to perform other duties as assigned and labor as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, particularly in paving or construction environments.
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
- Working understanding of paver components and systems.
- Comprehension of measurements and calculations related to yield and asphalt application.
- Strong work ethics with attention to detail and excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Full range of body motion including heavy lifting, handling and operating levers/controls, manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Willing to work extended hours, including night and weekend work. Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
- OSHA-10 Construction safety card.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from job sites for consistent ability to show up for work on time and every day as scheduled.

Pay: $26.00 - $57.90 per hour
