Summary
We are currently seeking Full-Time Seasonal, Asphalt Screed Operators to join our team for the upcoming paving season. Qualified candidates will have a working knowledge of the construction industry with specific experience related to asphalt installation and site work.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily inspection and routine maintenance of the screed and asphalt paver to ensure safe, proper working order.
- Ability to operate controls on the screed to spread and level asphalt accurately on the subgrade, adjusting for variations in the base material.
- Ability to operate electronics for grade control and slope.
- Maintaining proper depth and grade, monitoring the screed settings to ensure the asphalt is applied according to project plans.
- Inspecting the asphalt surface for consistency and smoothness, identifying and correcting any irregularities or imperfections and making adjustments as needed.
- Having a knowledge of asphalt material types, compositions and aggregates with the associated application methods and material specific requirements to achieve a high-quality finished product.
- Coordinating with the paver operator, dump truck drivers, and other crew members to maintain a smooth workflow.
- Adhering to all safety guidelines and procedures while operating the equipment.
- Willing to perform other duties as assigned and labor as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, particularly in paving or construction environments.
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
- Working understanding of paver components and systems.
- Comprehension of measurements and calculations related to yield and asphalt application.
- Strong work ethics with attention to detail and excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Full range of body motion including heavy lifting, handling and operating levers/controls, manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Willing to work extended hours, including night and weekend work. Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
- OSHA-10 Construction safety card.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from job sites for consistent ability to show up for work on time and every day as scheduled.

Pay: $25.00 - $41.89 per hour
