Summary
We are currently seeking Full-Time Seasonal, Roller Operators to join our team for the upcoming paving season. Qualified candidates will have a working knowledge of the construction industry with specific experience related to asphalt installation and site work.
Responsibilities
- Performs daily inspection and maintenance and ensures that roller is in safe, proper working order. Reports to Supervisor when roller needs additional maintenance or repair.
- Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of rollers and compactors over asphalt, soils and aggregate within compaction specifications while producing a high-quality finished appearance of the placed product.
- Determines speed, vibratory requirements and direction of roller based on knowledge of compressible material to achieve a smooth grade and surface.
- Responsible to ensure manholes, catch basins, water valves, etc. are cleaned and turned up to proper grade to promote positive drainage.
- Ability to work with Foreman to establish paving and rolling pattern.
- Ability to assess site conditions to identify and correct pre-paving concerns.
- Quality control of placed material behind paver and rollers to make corrections if required.
- Willing to perform other duties as assigned and labor as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, particularly in paving or construction environments.
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
- Working knowledge of compaction, grading and drainage.
- Capable if effectively completing tasks unattended/independently as needed.
- Strong work ethics with attention to detail and excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Full range of body motion including heavy lifting, handling and operating levers/controls, manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Willing to work extended hours, including night and weekend work. Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
- OSHA-10 Construction safety card.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from job sites for consistent ability to show up for work on time and every day as scheduled.

Pay: $25.00 - $54.90 per hour
