Commercial Plastics is currently seeking a Molding Operator to join our diverse and talented team. We're looking for an individual that has a strong background in the manufacturing industry with a deep understanding of machine maintenance and repair. This position performs set-up of molds, and all related tasks in assigned manufacturing areas, as well as supporting other department functions as needed.
Title: Injection Molding Operator
POSITION SUMMARY:
Locate and follow Quality Plan and Work Instructions. (If one is not available report to Production Coordinator)
Follow standard operating procedures in performing a variety of tasks in injection department, including any secondary, and rework activities such as: packing, sonic welding, printing, assembly, flash trimming, cleaning, and sorting. Perform accurate counting, wrapping, and packing of parts as required.
Extract parts from the machine while maintain expected cycle times, remove and regrind runners and sprue, trim parts as necessary, use fixtures as required to assemble, box, stack and label according to Work Order instructions. i.e: the Bill of materials and customer specification.
Perform quality checks on own work. Use various job aids to distinguish between good and bad parts, separating any bad parts. Bring questions related to quality, equipment, out-of spec, and working conditions immediately to the attention of the assigned Cell Lead/QA Cell Lead or Shift Manager/Foreman.
Use a variety of small hand and auxiliary equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
When materials are running low or excessive scrap builds up, notify assigned Cell Lead/QA Cell Lead.
Help train new and temporary employees in basic functions, as needed.
Relieve fellow operators for breaks when necessary.
Maintain work area in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
Eligible for overtime and weekend work as necessary
Follow all Company policies and procedures in the Employee Handbook.
All other responsibilities or duties assigned to you by the Supervisor or Cell Lead
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have the ability to read, write, and speak English.
Basic Math skills
Good hand-eye coordination, vision with the ability to distinguish colors,
Good manual dexterity

POSITION PHYSICAL, HEALTH, AND MENTAL REQUIREMENT:
This position will require ongoing walking, sitting, and standing, reaching, bending, squatting, and handling of production piece parts.
Light lifting of product, boxes, skids, may be required up to (50lbs. max.)
The individual must be able to work under the pressure of time. Multi task oriented and ability to work with teams or self-governed.
Ability to push or pull 200lbs with the use of a pallet jack.
POSITION WORKING CONDITIONS AND REQUIRMENTS
There may be exposure to noise, dust, and fumes in the production areas
Commercial Plastics is not climate-controlled manufacturing facility. Working in elevated heat conditions may be required.

Work Environment:
This position is often required to conduct business on the manufacturing floor. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work near moving mechanical parts and could be exposed to chemical or electrical shock risk. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, and noise levels that are typically moderate.
