DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an Early Learning Program Certification Representative, your role is crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of children in regulated childcare settings. This work includes conducting inspections to ensure compliance with regulations, as well as addressing any complaints or allegations of noncompliance. This position requires extensive travel to various facilities in urban, suburban, and rural areas of the Commonwealth. In this position, you will be on the leading edge of regulatory and policy changes that impact children and families throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- You will have the ability to request home headquartering after 6 months on the job and successfully completing your probationary period. You are still required to travel to worksites to complete your work duties. In order to be home headquartered, you must reside in one of the following counties covered by the Central Regional Office per the home headquartering agreement: Adams, Centre, Clinton, Cumberland, Dauphin, Juniata, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lycoming, Mifflin, Northumberland, Perry, Snyder, Tioga, Forest, Union, or York.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Travel: You must be willing to travel frequently. Travel expenses will be paid.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of professional experience providing direct services to children and youth and a bachelor’s degree that includes 24 semester hours of college level courses in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, psychology, or human development; or
- An equivalent combination of professional experience and training, which includes one year of professional experience providing direct services to children and youth and 24 semester hours of college level courses in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, psychology, or human development.
Other Requirements:
- You must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Central Region (which includes Adams, Centre, Clinton, Cumberland, Dauphin, Juniata, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lycoming, Mifflin, Northumberland, Perry, Snyder, Tioga, Union, and York counties) by the time of hire.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.

This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
