In this position, you will play a key part as a valued member of our inmate treatment team, providing professional, expert-level care, treatment, and rehabilitation for individuals struggling with substance abuse and dependence. You will be responsible for developing and planning alcohol and drug services, ensuring the successful implementation of these treatment plans. Additionally, you will introduce new inmates to the range of alcohol and drug services available to them. Your responsibilities will include reviewing inmate records, conducting initial interviews during reception, offering individual counseling to help inmates manage anxieties, gain cooperation in their treatment, and addressing other concerns related to their recovery journey. You will also prepare case summaries as needed for parole and pre-release processing, providing recommendations and tracking the inmate's participation and progress.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hour work week
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of para-professional and one year of professional experience providing drug and alcohol counseling services directly to clients in a social work setting; and certification by the PA Chemical Abuse Certification Board as a "Certified Addictions Counselor"; or
- One year of experience as a Drug and Alcohol Treatment Specialist 1; or
- Two years of professional experience providing drug and alcohol counseling services directly to clients in a social work setting; and a bachelor's degree that includes 18 credits in the behavioral sciences; or
- One year of professional experience providing drug and alcohol counseling services directly to clients in a social work setting and a master's degree with major coursework in addictions science, psychology or social work; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 18 college credits in the behavioral sciences.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
