Summary:
The Ryan White Coordinator is responsible for overall programmatic duties of the Ryan White Peer
Review Program. The duties of this position include scheduling and traveling across Virginia to lead 8-12
site reviews of HIV Ryan White Part B standards service standards for non-medical case management,
medical case management, outpatient ambulatory medical care, oral health, and mental health. The
coordinator will recruit and submit travel reimbursement and ICA payments to contracted reviewers.
The coordinator will be responsible for data collection and management in REDCap; this includes
building and maintaining REDCap modules and data extraction for reporting. The coordinator will be
responsible for reporting 8-12 site visit reports and annual reports. This position requires 30% in state
travel and a valid driver’s license.
Core Responsibilities:
o Responsibility 1 (95%): Peer Review
o Task 1: Work in collaboration with VDH to review Ryan White Part B service standards
and Peer Review Modules annually
o Task 2: Recruitment, onboarding, training, travel reimbursement, and ICA payment of
contracted Peer Reviewers
o Task 3: Schedule and coordinate 8-12 Peer Reviews annually
o Task 4: Travel to site to set-up and facilitate Peer Review
o Task 5: Manage Peer Review data collection and surveys in REDCap
o Task 6: Completion of site visit, annual, and quarterly reports
o Tasks 7: Work with fiscal administrator to ensure program finances are up to date and
accurate
o Responsibility 2 (2.5%): Professional Development
o Task 1: Attend or complete at least one pre-approved professional development/
continuing education activity through the VCU HIV/AIDS Center Ryan White Programs
Continuing Education (CE) Professional Development and Travel Policy
o Task 2: Provide feedback to Ryan White Program Leadership upon completion of preapproved professional development/ continuing education activity
o Responsibility 3 (2.5%): Other Duties as Assigned
o Task 1: Attend all team meetings prepared to discuss any achievements or opportunities
for improvement related to assigned duties and attend all annual retreats and special
functions
o Task 2: Attend any supervisor-required meetings, program week, trainings,
competencies, and/or site visits
o While working off-site for an approved reason, conduct one-self as an ambassador of
the University and adhere to all ethical and conduct roles as set forth by the University
Minimum Hiring Standards:
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Excellent oral presentation and writing skills
• Ability to work independently and multitask under minimum supervision and attention to detail
• Strong knowledge of program coordination and management
• Knowledge of clinical charts, clinical data collection and entry
• Ability to work autonomously and to manage tasks efficiently
• Must have the ability to meet specific deadlines and coordinate multiple tasks
• Knowledge of clinical paper charting and Electronic Medical Records
• Ability to work in a diverse work environment
• Willingness to travel in the state of Virginia
• Valid driver’s license
• Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student
environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree, prefer in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Social Work, or related
field or equivalent training/experience
• Knowledge of Ryan White HIV/AIDS programs
• Familiarity with healthcare quality management principles
• Previous experience in program/project coordination and management
• Familiarity with VDH Provide system, Microsoft Office, and REDCap
