The accountant’s primary responsibility is to provide accounting and budgetary support to a wide variety of programs within the agency. Included in the duties are timely and accurate reporting, reconciliation of general ledger accounts, preparing adjustments, analyzing financial statements and budgeting. Supports CAPSLO’s mission by ensuring the appropriate programs are budgeted, accounted and reconciled effectively so the programs can serve as many families and individuals in the community as possible.

Qualifications:Accountant II:
- Has a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field.
- Has a minimum of three to five years of experience in accounting or a related field.
- Has experience with accounts payable, receivables, financial statement analysis, and bank reconciliations.
- Monthly Reporting: Ensure timely financial reporting and meetings with Program Directors and the CFO.
- Journal Entries & Analysis: Prepare journal entries, analyze accounts, and investigate variances.
- Financial Adjustments: Make necessary adjustments to financial statements and report to funding sources.
- Budget Preparation: Collaborate with Program Directors to prepare annual and grant budgets.
- Grant Administration: Maintain grant listings, oversee contract files, and prepare billing for reimbursements.
- Financial Reporting: Generate financial reports for various programs.
- Asset Management: Safeguard assets, reconcile capital purchases, and maintain the Fixed Asset ledger.
- Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile general ledger cash accounts to bank statements.
- Mentorship & Training: Provide fiscal analysis, forecasting, mentoring, and training to staff.
- Audit Preparation: Assist in preparing audit schedules and annual revenue estimates.
- Safety & Compliance: Uphold the agency's mission and adhere to safety practices.
