Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file legal documents, including restraining orders, family law pleadings, and other court filings.
- Conduct client intake with empathy and discretion, gathering essential case information.
- Organize and maintain case files and confidential records.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, trials, and legal consultations.
- Conduct legal research on family law, domestic violence statutes, and related matters.
- Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, and community partners.
- Monitor case deadlines and manage legal calendars.
- Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate from an accredited program or related experience
- Experience in family law, domestic violence cases, or social justice advocacy (preferred).
- Knowledge of legal procedures related to domestic violence and family law.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality.
- Compassionate approach and trauma-informed communication skills.
- Proficiency in [Microsoft Office Suite, legal research databases, case management software].
- Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.
