What are the responsibilities and job description for the Billing Specialist position at Community Care Physicians?
Pediatrics Schenectady is looking for a part time Medical Billing Specialist to join their team!This person will coordinate all aspects of in-office accounts receivable monitoring and follow-up to ensure accurate and timely payment of current and outstanding claims.
Responsibilities :
- Perform check-in and check-out processes with patients including receiving of encounter forms, processing payments and balancing at end of shift.
- Follow-up on account receivable payments and collection accounts.
- Work in team with other Billing Specialists in office to monitor and collect on past due accounts, accurate coding of office visits, physician provider and diagnosis codes on encounter forms.
- Work in team with other CBO Billing Specialists to assist in claim corrections for clean submission.
- Maintain CCP user id / login information and proficiency for Payer websites.
- Respond to inquiries from patients, CBO and payers.
- Keep up to date and informed with participating insurance carriers according to the registration manual.
- Must be aware of patient confidentiality and bring any concerns to the Site Manager.
- Communicate any patient concerns or complaints to the Site Manager.
- Adhere to infection control / safety guidelines, and confidentiality policies.
- Assist Site Manager with special projects regarding billing and receivables.
- Assist in basic receptionist support when requested.
- Assist check-in staff with higher level of insurance and insurance website knowledge.
- Verify patient insurance coverage / demographic information at each visit and update when necessary.
- Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

Annual Salary Range- $17.00-$23.00
