Position Summary

Reporting to the Billing Manager, the Billing Coordinator is responsible for ensuring claims, and held or stopped sales orders, are processed timely and accurately adhering to insurance guidelines and meeting regulatory expectations. The Billing Coordinator also manages the full lifecycle of accounts receivable with the payer(s). The ideal candidate will be able to understand medical documentation, insurance coverage, payments, and guidelines. The ideal candidate shall also be detail oriented, have a willingness to learn and be able to develop and maintain relationships.

 

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Become an expert in insurance coverage and regulatory guidelines including obtaining authorizations
  • Responsible for processing and follow up on medical claims invoices
  • Process requests for medical records transmission for personal and/or 3rd party requests
  • Understand referrals’ clinical documentation and process necessary requirements by insurance companies
  • Own the accounts receivable lifecycle (open accounts, denials, appeals, corrected claims, adjustments, and payment plans)
  • Ensure resolution of all customer and/or payer billing issues
  • Responsible for deciphering medical policy and process accounts receivables in compliance with payer guidelines
  • Process Medical Necessity documentation

 

What You Must Bring to This Role

  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED); or equivalent education and experience - required
  • Associates degree from a 2-year college and/or 4 years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience - desired
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and written - required
  • Proven success providing an exceptional patient experience - required
  • A history of exceptional attention to detail - required
  • A history of maintaining confidentiality - required
  • Demonstrated mastery responding to questions in a tactful & professional manner - required
  • Strong interpersonal skills & the ability to effectively work with a wide range of individuals - required
  • Demonstrated history of being self-motivated & a desire to work effectively, autonomously - required
  • Proven history of accountability & ownership - required
  • A working history with MS Office Suite, Google G-Suite, mobile & web-based tools - required
  • A working knowledge of Brightree, U-Sleep, and Snap Works software’s - desired
  • Demonstrated history working in the medical field, Pharmacy and/or with Durable Medical Equipment - desired
  • Success operating within a Quality Management System (QMS) or similar regulated environment - desired
