The Dean of Industrial Technology and Continuing Education (ITCE) reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs/Provost and leads the strategic development, coordination, and implementation of credit and non-credit workforce training programs at the Monaca and Washington College Center campuses. The role is pivotal in expanding CCBC's capacity to meet regional workforce development needs by providing customized training solutions that are industry-relevant and responsive to evolving economic conditions.
The Dean will be a member of the Executive Cabinet and an innovative leader, responsible for forging new partnerships with businesses, industries, and community organizations to develop and deliver tailored training programs that enhance employee skill sets, foster economic development, and strengthen CCBC’s reputation as a leader in workforce education. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of growing educational programs that meet the needs of diverse adult learners and contribute to the economic vitality of the region.

- Develop and implement a strategic plan to grow and expand ITCE programs, focusing on meeting regional industry needs.
- Foster a culture of innovation by identifying emerging trends in industrial technology and continuing education, and adapting programs accordingly.
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of faculty, staff, and administrators in the creation and delivery of credit and non-credit courses.
Customized Training and Workforce Development
- Expand customized workforce training programs by partnering with local industries to develop and deliver high-impact training solutions.
- Collaborate with regional employers to assess training needs and align program offerings with current and future industry demands.
- Oversee the development and delivery of non-credit, credit, and certificate programs, ensuring flexibility to accommodate working adults and part-time students.
Program Development and Expansion
- Identify new opportunities for program growth including micro-credentials, certifications, and continuing education credentials.
- Leverage innovative instructional methods, such as online, hybrid, and hands-on training, to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with academic departments to ensure seamless integration of ITCE programs with the broader college curriculum.
Partnership Development
- Develop strong relationships with regional employers, industry associations, and workforce development agencies to align training programs with market needs.
- Represent CCBC at industry and community events and conferences, promoting the college’s role in regional workforce development.
- Lead efforts to secure grants, sponsorships, and external funding to support the expansion of ITCE programs.
Operational Management
- Oversee the management of resources, budgets, and personnel to ensure the effective delivery of programs.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation standards, industry regulations, and institutional policies.
- Track and analyze program data to measure effectiveness and identify areas for continuous improvement.
- Provides leadership for planning, developing, and revising credit, non-credit workforce, and continuing education courses and programs.
- Provides leadership for business and economic development activities of the college by establishing a creative, entrepreneurial environment in which people and business are served, resources are managed, and programs are developed to meet constituency needs.
- Directs Industrial Technology & Continuing Education faculty, staff, and students in daily operations of the School.
- Works with students and faculty to evaluate the quality of the programs and to develop performance enhancement plans supporting innovation.
- Cultivates training grants and contracts. Works with faculty and staff to identify budgetary needs within the School and administers the approved budget.
- Collaborates, as appropriate, to develop and implement a recruitment plan for the school.
- Provides leadership for developing strategies, allocating resources, and setting quality standards for effectively delivering programming.
- Establishes effective relationships to support the College.
- Evaluates local, regional, statewide, national, and international trends.
- Chairs all School meetings and participates in college-wide committees and task forces.
- Supervises, evaluates, and mentors School personnel.
- Performs other departmental related duties as assigned.
- Master's degree and 5 years of related experience are required.
