As the Senior Accountant you will oversee the accounting department and guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures that promote fiscal accountability and responsibility.
- Provide accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports.
- Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors.
- Measure financial performance against approved plans and standards and report the results.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of the policies, organizational structure, and procedures in attaining the objectives of the business.
- Administer tax policies and procedures, prepare tax returns and filing.
- Supervises and coordinates the preparation of reports to government agencies ensuring that all reports are prepared accurately and submitted timely.
- Ensures fiscal protection of the business assets, establishing adequate internal control, auditing, and insurance coverage.
- Continuously monitor economic and environmental factors and government influences, interpret their potential effects on the business.
- Manage the accounting system to provide accurate and timely information used for decision making and reporting.
- Identify, acquire and implement systems and/or software to provide critical financial and operational information.
- Develop and maintain internal auditing procedures to ensure compliance with organizational policy and assess the effectiveness of management controls.
- Design and manage systems, processes and procedures for handling cash receipts and disbursements ensuring segregation of duties.
- Monitor, direct, analyze and convey financial performance to the CFO.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance or related field.
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) preferred.
- 5 years of management experience preferred.
- Mental Health or Healthcare industry experience preferred.
- Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge or similar accounting software preferred.
- Financial operations knowledge; principals of accounting, financial management and budgetary practices.
- Computer knowledge, including, but not limited to word processing, spreadsheet development, graphical displays, email and internet use and presentations and networks.
- Ability to analyze financial data and patterns.
- Skill in providing excellent customer service and support; organizing and prioritizing workload and meeting deadlines; and excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work effectively with managers, co-workers, members of the public and professional groups.
- Ability to communicate effectively, clearly, concisely with others (internal and external customers, both verbally and in writing), consistently demonstrate positive/proactive customer service attitude. Consistently maintains ethical behaviors exemplary of quality public service and fair standards, inclusively, among all employees and members of the public.
