Responsibilities:
- Perform assessment to identify wound, ostomy and continence needs upon initial visit for all patients. Reviewing complete history, physical, orders for patient.
- Performs and documents comprehensive wound, ostomy and continence focused assessment on each visit.
- Educates patients and families on wound, ostomy, and continence needs and management.
- Is knowledgeable regarding discharge plan for patients and assists in ensuring all post-discharge needs/supplies are available after discharge.
- Explains procedures, treatments to patient to allay apprehension, verify understanding and gain cooperation, being conscious of patient’s rights and responsibilities.
- Assures needed wound, ostomy and continence management supplies are available in the various nursing areas.
- Documents all nursing interventions, nursing care, medications/dressings, pertinent findings, complication, other medical information of nursing related care and notifying physician as appropriate.
Requirements:
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s Degree preferred)
- At least two (2) years of Medical-Surgical nursing (or equivalent)
- Current, unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse in Colorado
- Current BLS
- Current certification by Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNB) as a CWOCN, WCN, CWON, or COCN preferred.
Compensation:
- $39.00 - $44.85 per hour, depending on education and experience.
- Bonus: $10,000 (for nurses with 2 or more years of experience)
