Job Title: Behavioral Health Consultant – Clinically Managed Low-Intensity Residential Services
Reports To: Chief Operating Officer
Position Overview:
The Behavioral Health Consultant for Clinically Managed Low-Intensity Residential Services is a licensed Psychiatrist or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner responsible for overseeing staff supervision, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. The Behavioral Health Consultant will act as or supervise the Medical Supervisor and oversee the Clinical Supervisor for the substance use disorder (SUD) Department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centered care to individuals in recovery.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership and Oversight:
- Supervise and provide guidance to the Medical Supervisor and Clinical Supervisor of the SUD Department.
- Implement and monitor program policies, procedures, and protocols to meet regulatory and accreditation standards.
Clinical Oversight:
- Ensure the delivery of evidence-based practices for individuals with substance use disorders.
- Oversee clinical assessments, treatment planning, and care delivery.
- Provide clinical leadership and consultation to staff regarding complex cases.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure program adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as CARF accreditation standards.
Staff Supervision and Development:
- Supervise and evaluate the performance of staff, including the Clinical Supervisor and other direct reports.
- Facilitate ongoing training and professional development opportunities for staff.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork and professional growth.
Administrative Duties:
- Monitor and address any risks to ensure the safety and well-being of residents and staff.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities, Experience, or Professional Qualifications:
Education and Licensure:
- Board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Psychiatrist (MD).
- Active and unrestricted medical license in the state of operation.
Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in clinical practice, including direct care for individuals with substance use disorders.
- At least three (3) years of experience in a leadership role, managing teams in a healthcare or behavioral health setting.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Comprehensive knowledge of substance use disorder treatment, clinical best practices, and recovery models.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, including CARF standards and state/federal laws related to substance use treatment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and foster a collaborative, inclusive work environment.
Competencies:
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CARF accreditation processes.
- Minimum of two(2) years of experience in Addiction Residential Recovery Center
- Advanced training or certification in addiction medicine or behavioral health leadership.
