Job Description
Job Title: Nutrition Director
Organizational Relationship: Director of Operations
Summary Statement of Functions: Responsible for the day to day operations of the nutrition program in Will County. Development responsibilities include raising funds to support the nutrition program in Will County.
Position Classification: Full Time, Monday through Friday
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assures that all CNNSSA policies and procedures are followed daily:
§ Food handling/Sanitation
§ Project Income collections and recording
§ Personnel management
§ Reporting and documentation
§ Filing and confidentiality of client files
§ Emergency procedures and disaster preparedness
§ In-Kind management
§ Community Outreach
2. Recruits and trains staff and volunteers
3. Coordinates activities with community groups for outreach, referral and other supportive services.
4. Manages fund raising activities for the Meals on Wheels Foundation of Grundy County.
5. Builds relations within the community to meet the increasing needs of the organization and to raise awareness
6. Submits timely applications to granting organizations and reports to grantors.
7. Works proactively to seek out fundraising opportunities
8. Distributes monthly newsletter to donors and seniors.
9. Maintains relationship with media and community contacts. Develops story ideas and press releases (after CEO approval) submits to print and TV media.
10. Clerical duties as necessary to maintain timely work flow
Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma with five years related work experience. College degree preferred in social work, gerontology, or human services. Must be able to work effectively with seniors and others from various socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds; have good oral and written communication skills; must be able to demonstrate skills in supervision, record keeping and problem solving and ability to handle problem situations under stress. Computer and keyboard skills mandatory.
Travel: Travel required. Car required with valid Illinois driver’s license and current liability insurance.
