Job Description:
In partnership with the Community Relations and Enrollment teams, the Outreach Assistant is responsible for building, executing and maintaining communication, primarily with technology communication tools, for all perspective and current families being served at CPCD. The goal of this position is to communicate and engage quickly and efficiently with families through various methods to maximize access to CPCD's early education programs for eligible children/families. This position will also market CPCD programs at local events and with CPCD’s mobile enrollment bus.
Pay: $21.74/hr.

At CPCD, we provide more than 1,500 children living in poverty, or who are challenged by special circumstances, with an early childhood education through Head Start, Early Head Start, and the Universal Preschool Program. Additional Benefits for Eligible Employees (25 hours per week):
CPCD offers paid vacation time, paid sick time, and paid holidays/Breaks.
- Paid Holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Juneteenth, Presidents Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day
- Paid Breaks include 1-week for Spring Break (March), 1-week for Fall Break (November), and 2- weeks for Winter Break (end of December/beginning of January).

Requirements
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- At least one year of demonstrated experience in customer service in a nonprofit or social services field, working with vulnerable populations.
- Knowledge of community outreach, communication/awareness-building principles, and multiple communication platforms.
- Possess interpersonal skills to interact with the public and work with families and staff in a professional, respectful manner. Strong customer service orientation and conflict management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to network and build relationships with CPCD parents, individuals, agencies and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrated initiative within a team atmosphere.
- Demonstrated ability to innovate and adapt approaches to evolving challenges.
- A strong grasp of basic technology, managing files and records, completing forms and working in a database.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination, TB test, drug test (including marijuana), and background check in accordance with the Office of Head Start Performance Standards and Childcare Licensing. (Physical examination and TB test thereafter as required).
- Must have access to reliable transportation and maintain minimum liability insurance as required by the State of Colorado if private vehicle is used.
Preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Knowledge of local community resources and agencies.
- Knowledge of Colorado Springs and neighborhood demographics.
- Some college credits in business, marketing, communications or social work, or related field.
