PRACTICE MANAGER
Companion Veterinary Health Center in Dayville, CT
Salary range $60,000 - $75,000 DOE
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Serve as the point person for staff questions and routine problems
- Train new employees
- Provide regular communication and input to Practice Leaders to keep them informed about staff concerns, continuing or developing employee performance issues, animal needs or issues, maintenance or supply needs, workload concerns, etc
- Manage and oversee order inventory and maintain supplies needed for the hospital
- Collaborate with staff to ensure efficient exam and surgery flow and hospital operations
- Act as a liaison between departments to ensure questions and concerns are addressed in a timely manner
- Delegate responsibilities to veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure a smooth workflow and efficient use of all scheduled staff
- Serve as a role model for staff

REQUIREMENTS
- Extensive knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a veterinary hospital/hospital setting
- Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
- Leadership abilities – collaborative, yet able to work independently
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to effectively handle and control incoming animals as needed
- Ability to handle complex and/or emotional situations
- Strong organizational skills, capable of multi-tasking, and prioritizing
- Must be a people person who is kind and caring to all staff and clients
- Prior experience working as a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant is preferred, but we will also consider candidates from the human health industry
- An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Certification as a Licensed Veterinary Technician preferred
