Safety Director

Job Summary

We are seeking a Safety Director to develop, implement, and oversee our safety programs, ensuring compliance with all DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA regulations. This role is critical in maintaining a safe work environment and reducing risk across our operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enforce company-wide safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local transportation safety regulations.
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; develop corrective action plans.
• Oversee driver training programs, including onboarding, continuing education, and defensive driving.
• Maintain accurate safety records and reporting systems.
• Collaborate with operations and HR to promote a culture of safety.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and insurance providers.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience in a safety management role or degree in the same, commercial transportation knowledge is a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA regulations.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Experience with accident investigation and claims management.
• Proficiency in safety management software and reporting tools.
• Current CDL w/Passenger endorsement or the ability to obtain CDL within 1 year of hire date.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
