Summary: Compass Drug Screening is a multi-office small business seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our accounting functions by performing various bookkeeping, clerical and administrative tasks. This position requires strong financial acumen, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. This person will need to be self-motivated, trustworthy, and dependable with high attention to detail. Punctuality and excellent verbal and written communications skills are critical to success in this position
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Data entry of financial transactions into QuickBooks
- Processing invoices, purchase orders, and expenses
- Reconciling bank statements
- Organizing and maintaining financial records
- Preparing and maintaining various accounting records and reports (e.g., accounts receivable, accounts payable, P & L Reports by location, etc.)
- Assisting with month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Filing and organizing financial documents
- Identifying discrepancies in accounts and resolving them
- Managing petty cash transactions
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- 2 years of experience in QuickBooks online accounting software
- 1-2 years of experience in accounting or administrative role
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong data entry and typing skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to maintain corporate confidentiality
- Strong understanding of all Accounting Principles
- Problem solving mentality
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 6 – 12 per week
