Compass Health Network is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nurse LPN/RN to join our Crisis Center Stabilization Center on a PRN basis. This pivotal role involves providing direct and indirect patient care to individuals in psychiatric distress while upholding the highest standards of Professional Nursing Practice. As a vital member of our interdisciplinary team, you will coordinate comprehensive care and services to enhance the well-being of those experiencing behavioral crises.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care including health and pain assessments, monitoring vital signs, and delivering daily care to individuals at the Crisis Stabilization Center.
- Administer medications, including injections, and supervise self-administration of medication.
- Manage medication records, including maintaining the Medication Administration Record (MAR) and counting controlled substances.
- Educate patients regarding their physical health and medication management.
- Coordinate care and communicate effectively with staff, families, physicians, and pharmacies.
- Document and report changes in patient behavior, attitude, and physical condition.
- Assist in various diagnostic and treatment procedures.
- Onboard and train new employees on protocols and procedures.
- Attend team and leadership meetings as required.
- Participate in mandatory overtime when necessary.
- Excellent verbal, written, and nonverbal communication abilities.
- Strong cognitive, organizational, and emotional skills to manage high-stress situations and deadlines.
- Proficient in delivering direct patient care to adults, particularly in crisis settings.
- Experience dealing with potentially agitated patients in a calm and professional manner.
- An Associate’s degree in nursing is required; a Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred.
- A minimum of one year of psychiatric nursing experience is essential, with preference given to candidates with hospital or acute care experience.
- Valid LPN or RN licensure in Missouri is mandatory.
