Key Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing care including health assessments, vital signs monitoring, and daily care for clients at the Crisis Stabilization Center.
- Administer medications, ensuring safe practices for medication distribution and self-administration.
- Effectively manage medication records, including the Medication Administration Record (MAR) and controlled substances.
- Educate patients on their physical health and medication management.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including staff, families, physicians, and pharmacists, to coordinate patient care.
- Accurately report and document changes in patient behavior and physical conditions.
- Assist with various diagnostic and treatment procedures, providing support to staff as needed.
- Mentor new employees on established procedures and protocols.
- Actively participate in team and leadership meetings as required.
- Provide direct care in challenging situations, including working with patients who may exhibit agitation.
- Be available for mandatory overtime if necessary.
- Strong verbal, written, and nonverbal communication skills.
- Cognitive and emotional maturity to manage multiple stressors and deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Proficient in providing patient education.
- Associate’s degree in nursing is required; a Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred.
- A minimum of one year of psychiatric experience, preferably in a hospital or acute care setting, is required.
- A valid LPN or RN license in Missouri is mandatory.
