In this vital evening shift role, you will provide compassionate care to individuals facing behavioral crises, ensuring adherence to professional nursing standards and collaborating within an interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care, including health and pain assessments, vital signs monitoring, and daily patient care within the Crisis Stabilization Center.
- Administer medications, overseeing medication passes and injections, while ensuring the safe management of controlled substances.
- Educate patients and their families regarding health issues and medication use.
- Coordinate comprehensive care with healthcare team members, including residents, families, and external healthcare providers.
- Document changes in patient behavior and physical condition, facilitating effective communication within the team.
- Assist in diagnostic and treatment procedures as needed and participate in training new employees.
- Engage in team meetings and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
- Provide care to adults, managing patients who may display verbal or physical agitation.
- Participate in mandatory overtime when required.
- Strong verbal, written, and nonverbal communication skills.
- Cognitive, organizational, and emotional resilience to navigate multiple stressors and challenges.
- Experience working with patients in high-stress situations.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Practical nursing certificate mandatory.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
- Minimum of one year of psychiatric care experience; prior experience in hospital or acute care settings is advantageous.
- Current licensure as an LPN or RN in Missouri is required.
