Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care, including health and pain assessments, vital signs monitoring, and general daily care of patients at the Crisis Stabilization Center.
- Administer medications, perform medication passes, provide injections, and oversee self-administration of medications.
- Manage medication records, including completing and updating the Medication Administration Record (MAR) and counting controlled substances.
- Educate patients regarding their physical health and medications.
- Collaborate with team members, including staff, families, physicians, psychiatrists, hospitals, and pharmacies to coordinate patient care.
- Document and report observable changes in patients' behavior, attitudes, and physical conditions.
- Assist in various diagnostic and treatment procedures as needed.
- Provide training on procedures and protocols for new employees.
- Engage in team and leadership meetings as required.
- Be prepared to work mandatory overtime if necessary.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and nonverbal communication skills.
- Strong cognitive, organizational, and emotional capabilities to effectively manage stressful situations and deadlines.
- Experience in providing direct patient care, particularly to adults, with an understanding of managing potentially agitated patients.
- Valid LPN or RN licensure in Missouri is required.
- A minimum of one year of psychiatric experience; experience in a hospital or acute care environment is preferred.
- An Associate’s degree in nursing is required, while a Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred.
