Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care, including health and pain assessments, monitoring vital signs, and performing daily care tasks for clients at the Crisis Stabilization Center.
- Administer medications, including injections and self-administration observations, while managing the Medication Administration Record (MAR) and ensuring compliance with protocols.
- Provide essential patient education regarding health and medication management, enabling individuals to understand their treatment plans.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary team members, including physicians, psychiatrists, and pharmacies, to coordinate optimal care for patients.
- Document observable changes in patients’ behaviors and physical conditions, contributing to the overall understanding of care dynamics.
- Assist in various diagnostic and treatment procedures and provide training for new employees on protocols and procedures.
- Engage in team meetings and leadership discussions to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Be prepared for mandatory overtime as required by service demands.
- Strong verbal, written, and nonverbal communication skills.
- Proven cognitive, organizational, and emotional capabilities to effectively manage stressors and challenging situations.
- Experience in delivering direct patient care to adults, with the ability to work with patients who may exhibit agitation.
- A minimum of one year of psychiatric nursing experience, with preference given to candidates who have worked in a hospital or acute care setting.
- A valid LPN or RN license in Missouri is required.
- An Associate’s degree in nursing is mandatory, while a Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred.
