The Employee Relations Specialist serves as a business partner across the organization. The ideal candidate actively participates in developing, executing, coordinating and/or communicating human resource initiatives in employee relations, investigations, performance management, HR compliance, risk management, policy and procedure interpretation and other HR functions as requested.

The Employee Relations Specialist serves as a business partner across the organization. The ideal candidate actively participates in developing, executing, coordinating and/or communicating human resource initiatives in employee relations, investigations, performance management, HR compliance, risk management, policy and procedure interpretation and other HR functions as requested.
Primary Responsibilities Include
- Effectively communicate with management to provide direction and guidance on complex employment issues including disciplinary actions, behavior and conduct issues, terminations, leave administration, workplace conflict and other HR related issues.
- Partner with Labor and Employment to manage union grievances, disputes, employee issues and concerns.
- Manages internal employment investigations process; works with senior leadership to facilitate investigations and actively participate when necessary.
- Provides support to Senior HR leadership, and management staff on employment matters.
- Assists management in preparing performance management and formal disciplinary actions. Ensuring official documentation is properly maintained to support recommended employment actions.
- Consult with management in developing employee performance improvement plans. Partner with management to ensure proper policies and procedures are followed when preparing notices related to employee counseling and disciplinary action.
- Assist in developing and implementing personnel policies and procedures, preparing and maintaining employment handbook updates on policies and procedures.
- Research employment laws to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
