About the Role
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Intern for Summer 2025 to support our Senior Program Manager and operations team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the development and production of composite aircraft components used in UAVs, eVTOLs, and other next-generation aerospace platforms.
As an intern, you will work hands-on in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, helping to refine production processes, improve efficiency, and drive innovation in composite part fabrication. You will also get exposure to project management functions, assisting with critical manufacturing and engineering initiatives.
Key Aircraft Components You'll Work On
- Primary airframe structures β Lightweight fuselage and wing assemblies.
- Aerodynamic fairings and enclosures β Reducing drag and improving efficiency.
- Structural supports and internal reinforcement components.
- Advanced composite skins and panels used in UAVs and eVTOLs.
Responsibilities
- Assist in manufacturing process development and optimization for aerospace-grade composite parts.
- Support fabrication, assembly, and quality assurance of critical aircraft structures.
- Work on continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency, quality, and automation.
- Analyze production workflows and recommend cutting-edge process improvements.
- Assist with documentation, process control, and quality compliance for aerospace standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and shop floor personnel to solve real-world manufacturing challenges.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace, or a related Engineering field.
- Passion for aerospace innovation, composite materials, and next-gen aircraft technologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and an eagerness to take on complex challenges.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Basic knowledge of composite materials, CAD software, and lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
