Job Summary:
The Accounting & Finance Analyst role is within Investment Management Finance (IM Finance) at Client, supporting the Investment Management segment ("MSIM"). The team plays a key role in accounting, finance, and process transformation across public and private markets. The successful candidate will join the Alternative Investment Partners (AIP) Finance Team, based in Baltimore. This role will focus on daily cash receipt reviews, accounting support, process improvement, and data analysis for accurate billing and cash-related functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Cash Receipt Review:
Review daily cash receipts across multiple business lines and legal entities to ensure accurate application to client invoices.
Address billing and cash-related issues, ensuring accurate communication for follow-up with clients.
Accounting & General Ledger:
Prepare journal entries and post to the general ledger to properly recognize trade errors, reclassifications, interest, withdrawals, and foreign currency affecting cash accounts.
Operational Efficiency:
Proactively seek and implement improvements in the billing, cash receipt, revenue operational, and accounting cycle for enhanced efficiency.
Collaboration & Consultation:
Work closely with peers, management, other finance & accounting teams, and the business to consult and resolve issues as needed.
Data Management & Analysis:
Manage, manipulate, and interpret large volumes of data to ensure proper cash application and accurate financial reporting.
Quarterly Invoicing Support:
Assist with the quarterly invoicing distribution process and perform quality control reviews when necessary.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Preferred undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance.
Experience:
- 5 years of relevant accounting and finance experience.
- Formal accounting and/or auditing experience is greatly preferred.
Skills:
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP functions).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
Independence & Communication:
- Ability to work independently to achieve accurate results while managing multiple deliverables.
- Ability to prioritize conflicting demands and effectively communicate progress with stakeholders, including senior management.
Preferred Qualifications:
Application Experience:
Experience with the Bonaire Revport application is a plus.
Certifications:
CPA or audit-related experience is a significant advantage.
