Senior Business Analyst

Overview

CTG is seeking to fill a Senior Business Analyst position for our client in Chantilly, VA.

Location: Chantilly, VA (Hybrid Remote)
Duration: 4 months

Pay: Up to $37.21/hr

Duties:

• Act as a resident expert on IT technology, particularly in data analysis.
• Fully manage high-level projects, including complex problem-solving and decision-making.
• Apply SEI/CMM practices to ensure project quality and success.
• Contribute independently to areas of technology expertise as needed.
• Work with management to create and develop new business projects and programs.
• Prepare and deliver presentations to technical and business audiences.
• Write detailed technical documents, reports, and presentations for client-facing communication.
• Estimate, decompose, and plan complex project tasks and deliverables.
• Provide leadership and motivation to technical teams, ensuring client satisfaction.
• Manage project costs and schedules, ensuring on-time delivery.
• Handle administrative tasks and assist with team organization and work assignments.

Skills:

• Strong proficiency in SQL, Power BI, and Excel.
• Experience with data analysis, reporting, and presenting findings to technical and business audiences.
• Excellent technical writing skills, particularly for queries, reports, and presentations.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to independently organize, analyze, and disseminate large amounts of data.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
• Self-directed with the ability to motivate and lead teams.
• Proven ability to manage project schedules and costs effectively.

Experience:

• At least three years of experience as a data analyst.
• Proven experience in managing complex projects and applying SEI/CMM practices.
• Strong technical writing experience with the ability to communicate findings clearly.
• Experience in organizing and leading teams, including up to 20 individuals.
• Proven success in working independently and as part of a team.

Education:

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an MBA, or equivalent work experience and practical knowledge.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Three or more years of experience as a data analyst.
• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, computer science, or equivalent.
• Strong technical writing experience, including queries, reports, and presentations.
• Proficiency in SQL, Power BI, and Excel, with the ability to learn new tools.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Adept at presenting findings and writing reports.
• Strong critical thinking skills and ability to work independently.
• Proven success in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
