The Distribution Sales Representative is a key member of the CompX Security Products sales team and will be responsible for developing and achieving maximum sales volume in the assigned territory through established distributors and wholesalers.
This position is remote based, with the ideal candidate residing in the I-95 Corridor area between Philadelphia, PA and New Haven, CT.
The Distribution Sales Representative must be results-oriented with solid time management and planning skills, and an exceptional communicator.

Position Responsibilities:
- Present and sell company products through various wholesalers/distributors in five market segments: Industrial, millwork, security hardware, multi-family and vending.
- Gain in-depth knowledge of our company products, value proposition, features, services, business position, and competitors to facilitate closing new and existing business.
- Identify and proactively seek new end-users, establish connections, and cultivate business relationships through in-person engagement and follow through.
- Become the sales expert, maintain strong customer relationships, and discover areas for growth through various methods and creativity.
- Perform technical product training, coordinate joint sales calls, and provide sales support for all levels within distributors’ organization.
- Collaborate with distributor management to develop effective strategies and improve performance.
- Understand customer or prospect needs and goals to provide an optimal product and recognize opportunities for customized product solutions.
- Serve as a hands-on liaison for customers by working closely with the internal team and managing timelines to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded.
- Write business proposals.
- Write Annual Business Plans.
- Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within specified time frames.
- Address and resolve customer concerns, escalate when needed, and provide feedback to the internal team.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
- 5 years of experience in sales and customer service
- Sales Training Program completion
- Solid time management and planning skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build rapport and establish relationships with Distributors and end-users
- Proficient in CRM
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Basic math skills
