Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Set the overall vision and direction for the Water/Wastewater Engineering practice, driving growth, profitability, and innovation in line with the firm's strategic goals.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the senior technical authority for water and wastewater systems, including treatment plant evaluation and design, rehabilitation and expansion, and master planning.
- Project Management & Delivery: Direct technical and financial management for multiple, concurrent projects involving W/WW pipelines and force mains, pump stations, lift stations, treatment plants, water supply systems, and solids handling facilities. Establish project sequencing, create work breakdown structures, and guide teams toward successful completion.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with current and prospective clients, including municipalities and other local agencies. Collaborate with sub-consultants and diverse project teams to ensure effective communication and alignment on project objectives.
- Team Building & Mentorship: Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing group of engineers, project managers, and support staff. Manage performance of project team members while providing mentorship and guidance to foster professional growth and maintain top-quality project delivery.
- Quality & Compliance: Oversee quality assurance and quality control to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices. Implement processes that drive technical excellence and client satisfaction.
- Education & Professional Credentials: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (advanced degree preferred); Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Technical & Leadership Experience: Extensive background in water and wastewater engineering, with a proven track record of leading large-scale projects for municipalities and public agencies in the Central Texas region (City of Austin experience preferred).
- Business Acumen: Demonstrated success in identifying new business opportunities, negotiating contracts, managing budgets, and steering the financial performance of engineering services.
- Collaboration & Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence stakeholders, and champion organizational goals.
