Sr. Subject Matter Expert

Concept Solutions, LLC is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Subject Matter Expert to provide expert-level support for a federal law enforcement customer’s IT systems. This remote role is based out of Clarksburg, WV and plays a critical part in modernizing infrastructure, improving data management, and enabling collaborative platforms through the use of cloud technologies, DevSecOps practices, and industry best standards. The program operates in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where cross-functional teams work closely with government stakeholders to drive continuous improvement, system resilience, and operational excellence in support of public safety and national security objectives.  This is a fully remote position and contingent hire for an upcoming proposal.  

The Subject Matter Expert provides specialized guidance and technical leadership for application development and integration within the collaborative tools ecosystem. This role draws on extensive experience across multiple technologies and platforms to support application lifecycle management, ensure alignment with enterprise collaboration strategies, and solve complex problems. The SME works closely with both infrastructure and end-user teams to tailor solutions that enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and enable cross-organizational coordination.

Responsibilities

• Serves as subject matter expert, possessing in-depth knowledge of a particular area, such as business, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or the various sciences. 
• Provides technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environments, high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, and implementation advice on exceptionally complex problems that need extensive knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation. 
• Participates as needed in all phases of software development with emphasis on the planning, analysis, testing, integration, documentation, and presentation phases. 
• Applies principles, methods, and knowledge of the functional area of capability to specific requirements, advanced mathematical principles and methods to exceptionally difficult and narrowly defined technical problems in engineering and other scientific applications to arrive at automated solutions. 
• Experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum, Kanban, Jira, Confluence, and SAFe. 
• Provide team specific training as needed. 

Requirements

• Extensive Experience with Atlassian Tools: Minimum of seven (7) years of hands-on experience with the Atlassian tool suite (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo) at the enterprise level, including configuration, administration, and troubleshooting. 
• Enterprise-Level Atlassian Configuration and Customization: Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in managing, configuring, and customizing Atlassian products for large organizations, ensuring scalability, performance optimization, and adherence to enterprise best practices. 
• Integration and Automation Expertise: Demonstrated experience in integrating Atlassian tools with other enterprise systems (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, version control systems) and automating processes using tools such as Jira Automation, scripts, and REST APIs. 
• Leadership and Support: Demonstrated two (2) years of experience in leading a team of administrators and providing tiered support for Atlassian tools, managing user permissions, security configurations, and ensuring the tools are aligned with organizational requirements and workflows. 
• Education: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related technical field, preferred. 
• Clearance Requirement: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance
