Coordinate placement of early field experiences for multiple subject, single subject, and education specialist credential students; collaborate with the Director of Student Teaching regarding field experience placements; promote and support professional relationships with districts and schools to strengthen Concordia's presence in the community.
Support the TPA Faculty Lead in all aspects of the California Teaching Performance Assessment (CalTPA) program; and generally contribute to the functioning of the School of Education as per the Senior Director of Teacher Credential Programs, Assistant Dean, and Dean of the School of Education.
All activities of this position are to make a contribution to the fulfillment of the mission of the university.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING :
Coordinator of Early Field Placement
- Contact school principals and / or district placement personnel to secure appropriate placement for credential students.
- Communicate fieldwork eligibility requirements and status to students and collect necessary documentation.
- Collect and enter field experience information and placement documentation into the database
- Communicate placement information and requirements to students and school sites by week 5 of the semester.
- Collect, process, and verify all field experience forms and evaluation meet CTC and program requirements.
- Notify Instructor / SOE Advisor / Program Director of any student program eligibility issues due to field experience requirements being unmet
- Serve as contact person for any field experience placement issues
- Review field experience evaluations and share results with program faculty and staff to guide program improvement
- Visit district offices and schools to speak with administrators, principals and staff to promote our Teacher Credential Programs, form professional relationships and thank them for mentoring our teacher candidates
- Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with specific anchor schools
- Update handbooks, forms, Google Drive, and Canvas sites for field experience content
- Maintain current knowledge in all regulations, California Education Code, Commission on Teacher Credentialing program standards pertaining to field experiences for clinical practice
- Serve as a university supervisor for 2 student teachers each semester.
- Support Teacher Credential program professional skills / mentoring program for students.

EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor's degree required with or one to two years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid Teaching Credential preferred.

31.25 - $32.00 / hr
