Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and organized Patient Care Coordinator to join our medical office team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting patients throughout their treatment journey, ensuring they receive the highest level of care and attention. You will work closely with our medical staff, patients, and other departments to ensure smooth coordination of services.
Responsibilities:
- Discuss Treatment Plans: Review and explain the recommended treatment plan provided by the doctor to patients in a clear and concise manner.
- Process Payments: Handle payment processing for treatments, including co-pays, insurance billing, and patient payment plans.
- Schedule Appointments: Coordinate and schedule patient visits and treatments as per the doctor’s recommendations.
- Provide Treatment Expectations: Inform patients about what to expect during their treatment and answer any questions they may have.
- Answer Phones: Manage incoming calls, address inquiries, and direct calls to the appropriate department.
- Follow Up with Patient Leads: Reach out to potential new patients and follow up with leads to schedule appointments or discuss services.
- Coordinate with Departments: Work closely with other departments (billing, medical staff, and administration) to ensure seamless care for patients.
- Medical Record Requests: Process and manage requests for medical records in accordance with office policies.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, ideally in a patient care or coordination role, is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an empathetic and patient-focused attitude.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and patient management software (experience with EHR systems a plus).
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or healthcare certification is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 33 – 37 per week
