TITLE: Blue Bay Campground Manager – Contract Employee
(Furloughable Position)
LOCATION: Division of Fish, Wildlife, Recreation and Conservation
Natural Resources Department – Polson, MT
SALARY: $20.61 to $23.69 per hour
CLOSING DATE: Monday, March 31, 2025 at 5:30 p.m.
The Blue Bay Campground Manager is a furloughable technical and labor position stationed at the
Blue Bay Tribal Campground with primary responsibilities in visitor use compliance, visitor service,
campground maintenance, and security. On occasion, the Manager will be called upon to perform
other related recreation projects. This position reports to the Wildland Recreation Program Manager
and the duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Operates campground registration and fee system, registering visitors, securing receipts and
monies, remittance of cash and checks, enters registration and fee information into database,
maintaining files, generating use, revenue and expense reports.
- Operates Blue Bay Buildings rental system including but not limited to: scheduling of use,
collecting applications, collecting fees, remittance of monies, monitoring compliance with rules
and regulations by users, monitoring building conditions, reporting break ins, schedule
cleaning of buildings, arranging refunds of cleaning and damage deposits, maintaining files,
and generating reports.
- Operates Blue Bay Boat Slip rental system including but not limited to: collecting applications,
collecting fees, remittance of monies, assigning slips, monitoring compliance with rules and
regulations by users, communication with applicants and slip holders, monitoring slip
conditions, maintaining files, and generating reports.
- Oversight of campground back stock including but not limited to: ordering stock, monitor
inventory, documenting sales, receipting, money handling, remittance, maintaining files, and
generating reports.
- Responsibility for cash management per CSKT Accounting Policies and Procedures Manual.
The incumbent will be responsible for the movement of cash/checks/money orders as
collected from the public to designated Division administrative staff for receipting.
- Monitors campground for visitor regulation and fee compliance and inform visitors of policy
and procedures.
- Supervision of seasonal staff and/or work crews to perform assigned duties.
- Generate shift schedules for workers.
- Keep records of workers hours and submit timesheets.
- Document daily activities and provide verbal, written and computer-generated reports of
activities and incidents for campground records and outside law enforcement.
- Responsible for inventory, ordering, and purchasing supplies for operations and maintenance.
- Notify proper authorities of compliance violations or other problems as they arise by radio or
telephone.
- Provides grounds maintenance and enhancements when needed such as garbage removal,
grass mowing, etc.
- Responsible for the care and storage of tools, vehicles and other equipment.
- Operates various power tools, chainsaws, radio equipment, utility tractor and other vehicles.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (AS REFLECTED ON THE TRIBAL EMPLOYMENT
APPLICATION):
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- One (1) year related work experience in campground management or operations, grounds
maintenance or building maintenance is required.
- Must be able to live on-site during weekly work schedule, work on weekends and for extended
periods of time.
- Two (2) years supervision of two or more workers is required.
- General computer knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Access is
required.
- Required to wear Tribal Government identification and safety apparel when conducting official
duties and outside field activities.
- Required to obtain online defensive driving training upon hiring and renew every three years
thereafter, along with obtaining and maintaining a current First Aid/CPR certification.
