Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Youth Engagement Coordinator to join our team. The Youth Engagement Coordinator works with at-risk students ages 5 to 17 to ensure successful completion of educational, personal and cultural goals that lead towards a high school diploma. Builds a trusting relationship with youth to mentor and foster positive personal development. Helps create an environment that promotes student learning and development through programming and support for student behavior.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Works closely with youth and families to encourage interpersonal growth and development.
- Creates individual student personal goals, with communication between staff, students, and parents.
- Assists with supervising youth and participating in scheduled activities.
- Assists with Heritage and Culture events for the youth.
- Interacts with youth and team members in a positive manner, act as a role model for youth.
- Takes proactive measures to ensure prompt resolution of any potential obstacles.
- Monthly scheduled calls with federal grant agency as required by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Program.
- Provides and advocates for social, emotional, developmental and educational support to youth.
- Works with other tribal programs as needed for referrals/interventions for at-risk youth.
- Participates with youth center staff in the identification and correction of social/behavioral problems.
- Ensures all grant required documentation and reporting is in compliance and completed as required.
- Prepares regular reports on youth participation and submits reports to Education Manager for review as appropriate.
- Demonstrates excellent leadership and communication skills in order to guide students to be successful.
- Manages assigned grants.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- May be assigned duties under the Chehalis Tribe Emergency Management Plan and Program.
Education and Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in a related field and five (5) years working with children in a school setting with progressive responsibility is required. Experience with American Indian/ Alaska Native communities is required.

Pay: From $30.90 per hour
