Our client, a $100m pharmaceutical company, is seeking a full-time Senior Accountant to join their finance team based in Staten Island, NY.
Summary:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, and supporting financial decision-making. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
• Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Manage general ledger activities and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with auditors during financial and tax audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Support cash flow management and financial planning initiatives.
• Review and analyze expense reports, accounts payable/receivable, and ensure proper allocation.
• Assist in process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency.
• Stay updated with accounting regulations, tax laws, and financial best practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred).
• 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a pharmaceutical or manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with financial audits and internal controls is a plus.
