What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at Sax LLP?
Our client is looking for a full-time Senior Accountant to work in their Staten Island, NY office. The position begins fully on-site, and then transitions to hybrid after an initial training period.
Summary:
The ideal candidate will prepare monthly sales report, bank, and credit card reconciliation, must possess a strong skill in Excel and knows how to perform V-lookups and sort through large database, etc. Willingness to work on special projects as required.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Post cash sales to worksheet
- Post credit card sales to worksheet
- Update Deposit Schedule worksheet
- Positive Pay upload & maintenance of files
- NACHA file upload & maintenance of files (currently 2x weekly)
- Review & monitor Operating bank account
- Clear cancelled checks in Array
- Recon daily deposits with worksheet
- Resolve ALL variances, including chargebacks (currently unable to access function)
- Notify AP of NSF checks, and post to appropriate worksheet
- Notify AP & bank of fraudulent checks, and post to appropriate worksheet
- Review Avalara data for errors and address
- Keep sales tax worksheet current (with credit card & cash sales)
- Verify daily backup is setup
- Prepare Sales Tax Filing returns
Requirements:
- Strong in Excel and V-lookup functionality
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and work independently while collaborating with relevant teams as necessary to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
